The patio

This is the patio my sweetie made so we could enjoy the outside during the summer. Each of those bricks (two sizes) was individually shaped and levelled and formed.

The patio

Our yard is so small that it needed a little something to give it interest, so sweetie decided to make a little patio. It's actually not so little. The garden is also a source of constant color in the spring, summer, and early fall (until the first frost).

Waterfall

In the corner of the patio is a waterfall with multiple pools all of which cascade and create the most relaxing sound. From the upstairs office, guest bedroom and the sitting room, the babbling brook sounds can be heard, and they produce a relaxing effect indoors, too!

Flowers

This burst of black-eyed susans comes up mid-to-late summer. The positions of various things on the hillside change during the year, and from year to year. The dragon holding up the gazing ball hasn't moved, but the ball cracked, and we now have a new one, but I can't really tell the difference, so I am happy about that.

Hillside

The hillside has WAY more flowers on it this year. This picture was from the summer of 2002. I will have to add some more current pictures, I think. The colors are just amazing!

Side yard

The side yard is pretty different this year. There is a baker's rack that is all rustic looking up against the house loaded with flowers and stuff, and many colors of sweet peas growing in front of it. Also the bells this year are incredible!

One of the ways sweetie decided to decorate the house is by making these bricks out of cement, and pressing letters into them to make words. That's pretty clever if you ask me. The company that makes these is more famous for little magnets each of which has a word on it with which you can form sentences that end up pretty random due to the limited selection of the words. With the stones, you can make whatever word you want. Way better!

Can you read what it says? One of the sets says "what if the hokey pokey is what it's all about?" and the other one says "don't make yourself a mouse or the cat will eat you."

The upper pink ones say "do you feel like we do?" and the lower ones say "not all who wander are lost." Yup, we were born in the 60's.
